Hacımulic was one of three people in the world that knows Mesnevi by heart.

One of the most important religious leaders of Bosnia Herzegovina and the Balkans, Haji Hafiz Khalid Hacımulic has passed away.

Haji Hafiz Khalid Hacımulic, an important figure in the Islamic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina, passed away in Sarajevo.

Hacımulic was one of three people in the world that knows Mesnevi by heart.

Hacımulic was born in Sarajevo in 1915, graduated from college in 1937. Studied philology in Zagreb and Sarajevo, Hacımulic knew Arabic, Persian, Turkish, French, English, German and Latin as a foreign language.

Being an imam in Carska Dzamija-Sultan Mosque in Sarajevo for 50 years without any pay, Hacimulic is called "legend" because of his contributions to the mosques of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the students he trained. Hacımulic devoted his life for Bosniaks to hold on to Islam.

Leaving behind countless translations and manuscripts, Hacımulic passed away on Saturday January 8 at the age of 96, as a result of health troubles. Scholar's funeral buried after the afternoon prayer in Gazi Husrev Bey Mosque, which he worked over half a century.
